We have always been proud to be the best-equipped Optometry Practice in the North Shore. Let us take this opportunity to show you a couple upgrades in our medical equipment we recently made to take better care of you and your family! (We feature two here today, and will feature two more next month)
Icare Tonometer ic100
The “no-air-puff” and more accurate way of measure the pressure inside of the eye (commonly known as the “Glaucoma Test”). We already had the first generation version of this instrument years ago, but are proud to upgrade to the latest version!
The Icare ic100 is based on a rebound measuring principle that requires no drops, air or specialized skills for its use. This device uses patented rebound technology to measure intraocular pressure. Its light-weight probe makes momentary contact with the cornea. Icare’s proprietary algorithm coupled with state-of-the-art software allows the device to evaluate deceleration, contact time and other motion parameters of the probe when it touches the cornea. The premium design and user interface brings IOP measuring to a higher level.
Haag-Streit Octopus 600 Visual Field
The Haag-Streit Octopus 600 can detect changes related to Glaucoma earlier than ever before.
Detecting visual field loss at the earliest possible stage, defining the optimum treatment and following up the patient to decide on the necessity of treatment changes or surgery are the main tasks of every glaucoma specialist. Addressing these basic needs, Haag-Streit has introduced the Octopus 600 that combines early diagnosis and follow-up in a single compact-sized, standalone device with improved ergonomics both for operator and patient.
The device makes it possible to run standard central fields with minimum test duration (much faster for the patient) and is seamlessly integrated into the practice environment. With its built-in reliability features, the Octopus 600 is easy to use and delivers the most accurate and trusted results.
