A LETTER FROM DR. AGREST
It has been 60 years since I opened my private Optometric practice, initially located in the GlenMorton Medical Center at 9129 Waukegan Road in Morton Grove. My intention, both then and now, has been to provide the nest quality eye care to patients with an emphasis on caring for families.
The first 29 years in Morton Grove were especially rewarding as the community warmly embraced my practice, and in return, I became very active in the Chamber of Commerce, assisting in many village functions. I was awarded Businessman of the Year and also had the opportunity to lead a group of Layman and Ministers in establishing the rst Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, a special tradition that still continues today. I was also active with Rotary International, which provides services and promotes good will both locally and throughout the world.
The steady growth of my practice necessitated a new, larger location in 1985 within Carillon Square in Glenview, and as a result, the business gained its namesake of Carillon Vision Care. We outgrew this space as well, requiring two additional moves before eventually landing at our current location. It has been an honor and a pleasure to become an active member within the Glenview community throughout the years as well.
As I enter a new lifestyle with retirement, I am pleased to leave Carillon Vision Care in the well qualifed hands of Dr. Andrew Neukirch, who demonstrates the same attributes that I value; he is caring, compassionate, and an exceptional Optometrist. I would also like to thank Phyllis, who has served alongside me for many years in the optical. She is the best at what she does and always strives to provide the highest quality service and eyewear to our patients. My other capable assistants are Mary Lou, who recently retired, and Lucy, my long time receptionist, who always greets you with a smile. They are precious to me, and I will miss my time spent with them daily.
I cannot find adequate words to express my gratitude for your loyalty to my practice for these past 60 wonderful years.
Dr. Jerome Agrest
HELP US CELEBRATE DR. AGREST’S RETIREMENT!
Our patients graciously donated $2,080 enabling Dr. DalPorto to travel to Kenya last month, where she provided eye care to underserved patients in regional health clinics. The trip was organized by a non-pro t group known as VOSH (a.k.a Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity). Your donations helped to cover the cost of supplies for the clinic, eyeglasses, and volunteer travel expenses.
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT!!!
Dr. Neukirch Awarded “Young Optometrist of the Year” by the Illinois Optometric Association
We are VERY proud to announce that our own Dr. Neukirch was the recipient of the “Young Optometrist of the Year” award for 2017 from the Illinois Optometric Association. He was nominated by his professional colleagues for this prestigious accolade due to his commitment to public service and the eld of Optometry. Congrats, Dr. N!
Carillon is proud to announce many upgrades this year!
Our office was recently renovated (thank you for your patience during this process!), which included all new floors, wall coverings and furniture, new computers, and larger, high resolution patient information and medical diagnostic displays.
We are also excited to have upgraded our Optical Coherence Tomography (“OCT”) and Retinal Imaging system to the next generation model: The Topcon Maestro. This advanced imaging equipment is the very best technology available for the early detection of Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, and Diabetic Eye Disease.
Other “upgrades” this year have included the addition of a third exam room to accommodate our ever-growing patient base, major enhancements in our Vision Therapy center, and extended doctor hours with Dr. DalPorto, who is now seeing patients in our practice full-time!
