Carillon is one of the largest and oldest private optometric practices on the North Shore. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality eye care using the latest technology and materials available. We continually strive to provide professional and personalized service to our patients.
The Doctors and Opticians on staff at Carillon have seen many changes over the years to the practice, to the surrounding community, and to the optical industry at large.
Dr. Andrew J. Neukirch
Dr. Neukirch received his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University in 2008. Dr. Neukirch completed training in the areas of Specialty Contact Lens, Pediatric Optometry, Ocular Disease, Orthokeratology, Myopia Control, and practices the field of Medical Optometry. This includes diagnosis and treatment of Dry Eye, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, and Strabismus (or Lazy Eye); to name a few common conditions. Dr. Neukirch serves as the President of the North Chicago Society of the Illinois Optometric Association. He also serves as the Chicago Member Director for IDOC. He is an active member of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH).
Patient care and comprehension are of the utmost importance to Dr. Neukirch, so be sure to ask him all of your vision care questions. He also makes himself available online through our blog published monthly and personally checks our office email daily.
Dr. Vince Brandys
Dr. Vince Brandys is a well-respected optometric author, lecturer, and a trustee of the Illinois Optometric Association. He is the full-time Senior Director for Governmental and External Affairs for the Illinois Eye Institute.
Dr. Brandys achieved his Doctorate in Optometry in 1990 from the Illinois College of Optometry after receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from DePaul University. Dr. Brandys believes that primary health care should encompass the eyes, and his goal is to provide education and the highest level of care to each patient he sees.
Dr. Brandys moved to Glenview in 2012 and resides with his family in Valley Lo. Outside of the office, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife, Leeann, as well as their five adult kids, two dogs, and two cats. We were pleased to have him join Carillon Vision Care as a part-time associate in 2014.
Dr. Jerome Agrest
Dr. Agrest started his practice in 1958 at the Glen Morton Medical Center in Morton Grove, IL and moved the business to Glenview in 1987.
Dr. Agrest received his doctorate of optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in 1948. He is a 50-year member of the American Optometric Association, and a Charter member of the American Optometric Association Contact Lens and Cornea Section. Dr. Agrest focuses his practice on family vision care and contact lenses, including hard to fit RGP contact lenses.
Phyllis Milewski, F.N.A.O.
Lead Optician/Office Manager
Phyllis has been with Carillon Vision Care for more than 20 years. She started with Dr. Agrest part-time while attending high school in Morton Grove, continued throughout her undergraduate studies, earning her Bachelor's degree from University Illinois Chicago. She became a Fellow of the American Board of Opticianry in 1990 and continues to stay current by taking continuing education courses every year.
Phyllis is knowledgeable with all the latest lens technology and keeps our optical up to date with current designer frame styles. She enjoys working with our patients and her customers to achieve the best aesthetic and functional fit. Phyllis is dedicated to our practice and our mission, and looks forward to serving our community for years to come.
